Membership

Belonging with responsibility, care, and freedom.

Church membership is a public commitment to Christ and to a particular local church, never a claim of control over a person’s conscience or legal rights.

A shared covenant

Members receive and give care, gather faithfully, pursue holiness, protect unity, serve, give freely, support mission, and help hold leaders and one another accountable.

A careful process

The intended process includes a foundations course, application, conversation with leaders, affirmation of the membership covenant and doctrine, and a transparent church decision under the adopted constitution.

Healthy boundaries

Membership does not give leaders control over private decisions, remove legal rights, require silence about wrongdoing, or place the church between a person and Christ.
